MANZINI – Visitors to the 58th Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) stand a chance to win green economy-themed prizes, including two electric scooters and eco-tourism packages for the 7th Edition Mlawula Campfire Festival.
The prizes form part of the EITF’s efforts to bring its 2026 theme, “Unlocking Green Economy Opportunities for Sustainable Trade Promotion,” to life by encouraging visitors to embrace sustainability in practical and engaging ways.
This year’s prize initiative replaces the traditional “Win a Car” competition with prizes that are aligned with the green economy theme while also creating opportunities for more visitors to walk away as winners.
Among the prizes are two Glamping Packages for the Mlawula Campfire Festival, valued at E5 200 each. The packages include an en-suite safari deluxe tent with veranda access, a private bar and restaurant, access to a private braai area, private showering units, secured parking, LED rechargeable lights, a double bed with linen, one full festival ticket and 24-hour security.
Visitors can also win 10 Impala Packages, each valued at E1 200, which include drinks, food and transport.
The Mlawula Campfire Festival, an outdoor experience combining nature, entertainment and recreational activities, will take place from September 25 to 27, 2026.
The second category of prizes comprises two iGlide 8.5-inch Folding Electric Scooter X-Off Road units, each valued at E15 000. The electric scooters are intended to promote greener mobility, healthier lifestyles and reduced carbon emissions.
EIPA Manager – Domestic Trade Siphesihle Nkabinde said the prizes were deliberately selected to complement the green economy theme while giving visitors opportunities to experience Eswatini’s tourism and outdoor lifestyle offerings.
“We are pleased to offer exhibition visitors chances to win more prizes and, in line with our green economy theme, the prizes this year are environmentally friendly,” said Nkabinde.
The 2026 EITF, which runs from August 29 to September 6, brings together businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, government institutions and consumers for exhibitions, trade, networking, learning and entertainment.
The 10-day event is increasingly positioning itself as more than a traditional exhibition, providing a platform for businesses to showcase their products and services, engage customers, explore partnerships and identify new markets.
This year, the platform places the green economy at the centre of these opportunities, with exhibitors encouraged to demonstrate how sustainability, innovation and environmentally responsible practices can create economic opportunities for businesses and communities.
Key areas include sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling and waste management, green financing and environmentally responsible value chains.
Visitors wishing to participate in the competition must download the EITF App. The app is available on the Google Play Store, while those without access to the app can use the web version by visiting bit.ly/eitfweb.
