The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy (MNRE), working with the Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA) and the Eswatini Environment Authority (EEA), has invited stakeholders to take part in consultation workshops on proposed Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS).
The proposed regulations focus on minimum energy-efficiency requirements for electrical and electronic equipment and appliances. These include refrigerators, air conditioners and lighting products.
The consultations will give members of the public and industry an opportunity to share comments and ideas before the regulations are finalised.

Why the Consultations Matter
Minimum Energy Performance Standards are intended to improve the energy efficiency of products sold and used in Eswatini. The proposed regulations are expected to guide the energy performance requirements for selected appliances and equipment.
Stakeholder input will be considered during the drafting of the regulations.
