The nation has been called to a big prayer service slated for Saturday at the Metropolitan Evangelical Church at Fairview in Manzini.
The theme is ‘Turning hearts and minds to God’ (taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14).
Speakers are Reverend Welcome Gwebu from Cana Alliance, Pastor Dennis Shongwe of Christian Revival Centre, Reverend Shodi Msibi from the Free Evangelical Assemblies (FEA) and Pastor Grace Mtsetfwa.
“The main objective is to pray against the social ills facing the country. Unemployment is rife, with mainly the youth being at the receiving end. It is time for the church to rise up and pray for complete healing of the nation.
“God will definitely hear our prayers and respond favourably if we join hands, hearts and spirits in one accord.
“There are other challenges facing us as well, such as child abductions and kidnappings as well as gender-based violence (GBV). We must also pray for the apprehension of the suspect killers,” said Eswatini Conference of Churches (ECC) CEO Pastor Themba Ngozo.
The ECC is also itching to witness a national revival and repentance in its time.
“The great revival cannot happen if Emaswati don’t repent. Repentance means we’re about to witness a revival (transformation) of society from every sphere. Let us come together united in faith to pray for the renewal and prosperity of our beloved nation,” Ngozo said. Everyone is invited to the service.
They had also noted the drugs shortage crisis, economic meltdown and church conflict as other issues that the nation must seek solutions for in prayer.
