VUKANI BOMAKE COTTAGE FACTORY OFFICIAL LAUNCH:
Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament Marwick Khumalo admires products made by the constituency’s team at the newly established Vukani BoMake cottage factory. The facility, a Business Women Eswatini-led initiative supported by CONCO, is being officially launched today and is expected to be attended by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Mancoba Khumalo.

UNDP, STAKEHOLDERS DIALOGUE ON CLIMATE CHANGE
The UNDP is hosting a screening and roundtable discussion on the UN Secretary-General’s powerful Climate Action speech. Stakeholders from across sectors are gathering to confront the global climate crisis and explore how to transition from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy.

FOCUS ON ECONOMIC GROWTH:
Parliamentarians have gathered at Mountain View to deliberate on the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Amendment Bill 2024.
Making his remarks during the session Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo emphasised that SEZs were part of His Majesty’ vision to drive Eswatini toward first world status, with a spotlight on research, technology and bioparks.

ILLOVO FC REBRANDS UBOMBO SUGAR FOOTBALL CLUB:
MTN Premier League outfit Illovo FC has rebranded to Ubombo Sugar Football Club.
The club, which is stepping into a new era, will soon unveil its new technical sponsors for the upcoming season.
The official announcement was made in the presence of Ubombo Sugar Limited MD Muzi Siyaya, the company’ EXCO members and PLE Chairman Polycarp Dlamini, among other distinguished guests.
The club also unveiled its new kit for the upcoming season

NEWLY LAUNCHED EWIP TO PROTECT COUNTRY’S WATER RESOURCES:
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, through the Department of Water Affairs and in collaboration with key partners in the water sector, has launched the Eswatini Water Investment Plan (EWIP).
This plan is an important step to protecting the country’s water resources and preparing for problems caused by climate change and water shortages.
The EWIP serves as a comprehensive framework aimed at mobilizing resources, guiding investment decisions and ensuring the sustainable development and management of water resources across the country.

LATE DPM HONOURED:
Members of Parliament observed a moment of silence in honour of the late former Deputy Prime Minister Constance Simelane, the country’s first female DPM, before proceeding with the business of the day.

SENATE PRESIDENT COMMITS TO DATA-DRIVEN POLICY:
Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini says the insight and awareness gained during the two-day AI sensitisation workshop will help strengthen Senate debates and policy formulation through data-driven and well-researched approaches.

KHOISAN GROUP EMBARKS ON
The Khoisan group has embarked on a cultural heritage tour around the Pigg’s Peak area, exploring ancient Bushman rock art sites that reflect the deep historical roots of the region. Their first stop was the renowned Nsangwini Rock Shelter in Nkomanzi, followed by a visit to eHlangotsini where they admired more preserved Bushman paintings. The tour concludes at Ndzingeni.
