MONENI Pirates have strongly condemned what the club describes as unethical and disrespectful attempts by rival Premier League teams to lure away their contracted players without the knowledge of management.
With the season entering its final stages, transfer speculation has already begun to intensify across the local football scene. However, it appears the Sea Robbers have become one of the early targets.
Information gathered by this publication suggests that a certain Premier League club, whose identity cannot yet be revealed, has allegedly made contact with two Moneni Pirates players without following the proper channels.
The reported developments have angered the club’s hierarchy, with management warning that they will fiercely protect both their players and the future of the institution.
In a press statement, Moneni Pirates CEO Brian Dlamini said the club was deeply concerned by the growing trend of clubs and individuals directly approaching players who were still under contract.
“We have noted with serious concern the increasing tendency of certain clubs and individuals attempting to directly engage and entice our players without the knowledge or consent of Moneni Pirates Football Club.
This behaviour is unacceptable, unethical and undermines professionalism, contractual respect and the integrity of football in the country,” said Dlamini.

The outspoken administrator made it clear that Moneni Pirates would not tolerate any attempts to destabilise the club.
“Let it be known that Moneni Pirates FC will fiercely defend its players, its sporting vision and the values this institution stands for.
Any club or individual trying to interfere with contracted players must understand that we will not take such actions lightly. There are proper channels that must be respected in football,” he added.
Dlamini further urged clubs, agents and football stakeholders to uphold integrity and professionalism instead of creating instability through illegal approaches.
“Football can only grow when there is mutual respect among clubs. What is happening damages the image of the game and creates unnecessary instability for players and teams.
We urge all stakeholders to conduct themselves honourably and respect existing contracts,” he said.
The Moneni Pirates CEO also assured supporters that the club’s leadership remains fully committed to protecting the identity, ambitions and long-term future of the club as they continue building a disciplined and competitive side.
