The Ezulwini Palazzo International Convention Centre has started hiring, advertising eight job specialities under its food and beverage department.
The jobs were listed a week ago on the Palazzo Hospitality LinkedIn page.
The number of people required for each post was not published on the page, but the public had already started applying for the vacancies.
Some of the vacancies that were listed are for waitresses and waiters, barista and hostesses.
So far, 65 people have clicked the apply button on LinkedIn for the F&B hostess position.
There were also 78 applicants for the F&B server post as of yesterday.
This comes after members of the public camped at the ICC in Ezulwini looking for jobs following its official opening by His Majesty King Mswati III on April 25.
Emaswati desperate for jobs have been since camping outside the convention centre with the hope that they would get jobs.
However, they were told to wait for job adverts as the hotel was not hiring then.
According to a source close to the matter, the jobs advertised on LinkedIn are authentic, with Ezulwini Palazzo recruiting workers for the convention centre for now.
The source stated that the vacancies being advertised on LinkedIn by Palazzo Hospitality were specifically indicated as vacancies for the Ezulwini Palazzo to avoid confusion since Palazzo has many establishments globally.
The source added that for waiter and hostess positions, applicants need experience as a server or in a similar role.
They also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
“Waiters and waitresses must possess the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, and have a customer-focused attitude. They also need basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards. These are the candidate requirements,” the source said.
Meanwhile, those interested in any of the jobs were advised to submit their applications via email and include the exact position code and title in the email subject line.
