THE family of a St Joseph’s High School pupil who disappeared nearly a week ago has made an emotional appeal to the public for assistance as the search for her continues.
Lindelwa Dlamini (17), a Form IV learner, was reported missing after she failed to return home on Friday last week.
Since then, her family has been living through what they described as a nightmare, with no information about her whereabouts despite ongoing efforts to locate her.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Lindelwa’s brother Lungelo said they had not seen or heard from the teenager since the day she went missing.
He said the family was becoming increasingly concerned as each passing day brought more uncertainty.
Lungelo explained that relatives, friends and community members had been searching for Lindelwa in various places where she was known to spend time, but their efforts had yielded no leads.
He said the family had also been reaching out to people who might have had contact with her before her disappearance, but no useful information had emerged.
He described the situation as extremely distressing for the family, adding that they were struggling to understand what could have happened to the young learner.
According to Lungelo, Lindelwa’s disappearance had left family members worried and anxious, particularly because it was out of character for her to leave home without informing anyone of her whereabouts.
He said they remained hopeful that she would be found safe and reunited with her loved ones.
He urged anyone who may have seen Lindelwa or who may know where she is to come forward immediately and contact the family.
Community members have also joined calls for information, with messages circulating on social media platforms in an effort to raise awareness about the missing teenager and widen the search.
The Dlamini family says it remains hopeful that someone, somewhere, may hold the key to finding Lindelwa, ending the painful uncertainty that has gripped them since her disappearance.
