GOVERNMENT first-year students will receive their living allowances at the end of November, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security has clarified.
Ongoing students will receive their living allowances as usual.
Each sponsored student currently receives a monthly living allowance of E2 000, which was recently increased from E1 690.
The ministry assured that any internal challenges faced will not affect students’ payments.
“All government sponsored first-years will receive their allowances by the end of November by then everything required to be done by the ministry will be completed,” said Scholarship Manager Sethu Bhembe.
Government through the ministry of labour provides scholarships and pays living allowances to students enrolled at the University of Eswatini (Kwaluseni, Luyengo, and Mbabane campuses), Eswatini Medical Christian University (EMCU), Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT), William Pitcher Teachers Training College, Ngwane Teachers Training College, Good Shepherd Nursing College, Botho University, and Gwamile VOCTIM, among others
