HIS Majesty King Mswati III’s bold E200 million vision for the completion of the five-star hotel adjacent to the International Convention Centre (ICC) took a significant and inspiring step forward.
Graced by Princess Sikhanyiso, who was warmly welcomed by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo, the official launch of the Royal Signature Expo 2026 and its associated Mega Raffle brought His Majesty’s call for national unity and strategic advancement to vibrant reality.
The initiative directly fulfils the king’s call to mobilise E200 million through the Royal Signature Expo to finalise the premium hotel component of the landmark ICC project.
The facility is poised to host the historic national celebrations on April 25, marking both His Majesty’s 58th birthday and 40 years (Ruby Jubilee) on the throne. The launch seamlessly connects to the king’s earlier announcement at Hlane, where he introduced a special fundraising raffle inviting citizens and patriots to contribute E200 000 per ticket while standing a chance to win one of five extraordinary prizes, each valued at E10 million including luxury cars and exquisite jewellery.
Delivering a powerful keynote that captured the depth and purpose of this royal initiative, Minister Khumalo outlined how the Royal Signature Expo would drive the E200 million target while elevating the country’s economic future:
“The Royal Signature Expo will serve three primary functions. Firstly, it will showcase capability. By pairing globally established premium and ultra-luxury brands with local enterprises that are already demonstrating excellence and regional expansion, the platform affirms the strength, quality and readiness of Eswatini’s industries to compete and succeed at the highest level.
“Secondly, it will facilitate meaningful, outcome-driven connection,” the minister said.
He elaborated that as an invitation-led platform with carefully controlled access, the Expo was designed not for volume but for value, enabling direct engagement between premium brands, strategic partners and high-value audiences within a setting that prioritises depth over scale.
Thirdly, he said it would unlock opportunities.
“It creates a pathway for local enterprises to evolve beyond participation in global markets, towards positioning themselves as premium brands capable of competing within and contributing to the global luxury economy,” Khumalo said.
As the minister emphasised, this was a deliberate move to position the country firmly on the map of high-value trade, investment and premium tourism.
