Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Vice-President Steve Horton has praised Nsingizini Hotspurs President Derrick Shiba for his strong contribution to local football.
Horton said Shiba is setting a standard that reflects the work of some of the country’s most respected football administrators.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Horton said the club’s organisation and steady rise in recent seasons demonstrated clear leadership, vision and a strong commitment to excellence.
He added that the club’s rapid progress was a reflection of Shiba’s dedication and passion for the game.
“It is fulfilling to witness someone like Derrick Shiba come into football and achieve so much in such a short period. What he has accomplished is not easy and deserves recognition,” said Horton.
He said Shiba’s achievements had raised the bar for club administration in the country.
“As EFA, we would like to congratulate him for his contribution to improving the standard of his team. When clubs improve, football in the country also benefits because stronger clubs contribute to the growth and development of the national game,” he said.
Horton further noted that Nsingizini Hotspurs’ success, which includes winning domestic honours and firmly establishing themselves among the country’s elite, highlighted the importance of proper planning and sound administration.
He said achieving such progress within just four seasons underlined Shiba’s commitment to building a sustainable and competitive football structure.
Horton urged other football leaders to emulate the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by Shiba, stressing that the continued growth of local football depends on visionary administrators willing to invest in long-term development.
