“The reshuffling is taking place but this will be communicated formally when some of these officers return to the country, since some of them are currently out of the country,” said Mdluli.

The reshuffle comes weeks after Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini held a private meeting with Government communications officers under the prime minister’s office portfolio to reflect on the importance of effective government communication.

During the engagement, the prime minister reportedly emphasised the critical role communications officers play in promoting government policies, programmes and service delivery initiatives.

He urged the officers to continue amplifying positive, human-centred stories that highlight the real impact of government work on the lives of citizens.

The meeting also explored the growing influence of artificial intelligence in communication and information dissemination.

Officers were encouraged to embrace technological opportunities while ensuring that credible and accurate government information remains accessible to the public.
