THE Love and Laughter Fest turned Valentine’s Day into a fun-filled celebration at Mantenga Cultural Village, uniting hundreds through humour.

The annual showcase transformed the cultural venue into a vibrant celebration of romance and rhythm, where laughter took centre stage. Couples arrived hand in hand, groups of friends filled the aisles and solo guests quietly claimed seats, all drawn by the promise of shared joy. By showtime, the space had reached full capacity, with latecomers lining the sides, determined not to miss the experience.

Master of Ceremonies Mnqobi Tsabedze immediately lifted the mood with an interactive icebreaker built around Hello by Adele, inviting audience members to sing along as lyrics flashed before them. The playful participation dissolved any stiffness, setting a relaxed and cheerful tone before headline duo Gogo and S’lwane stepped forward.

The pair, organisers of the Love and Laughter concept, delivered a tightly structured set rooted in relatable relationship humour. Their chemistry carried the performance, weaving everyday scenarios and cultural observations into punchlines that resonated across generations. Laughter rolled steadily through the venue, with couples nudging one another in recognition.

Following them, Christian Dude heightened the tempo with polished storytelling and sharp observations, drawing visible emotion from the crowd as waves of laughter echoed late into the night.

After the show, Gogo reflected on the deeper intention behind the event.

“We believe humour is an adhesive to the concept of love and relationships,” he said, framing the festival as more than entertainment.

He emphasised its broader purpose.

“This show is our own little effort to help practising or aspiring couples towards better love and healthier matrimony,” he explained, highlighting the event’s relationship-centred vision.

He further noted the deliberate Valentine’s Day timing.

“We believe everything that begins with laughter ought to continue and conclude on a similar tone,” he added.
