Eswatini Mobile Cares and the Municipal Council of Manzini joined forces in a community clean-up campaign aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and public health.

The activity saw participants spread across various parts of the city collecting litter, clearing public spaces and encouraging residents and businesses to play their part in maintaining a clean environment. Health Inspector Siyabonga Dlamini from the Municipal Council of Manzini was also present during the exercise.

The clean-up brought together representatives from both organisations as they worked collectively to address environmental challenges within the city. Armed with refuse bags, gloves and cleaning equipment, participants spent the morning removing waste from streets and public areas, contributing to a cleaner and more welcoming urban environment.

An Eswatini Mobile Cares representative stated that the exercise forms part of its ongoing efforts to contribute positively to communities across the country through the Eswatini Mobile Cares programme. The company noted that maintaining clean surroundings is a shared responsibility that requires the participation of businesses, public institutions and residents.

They noted that partnerships between local authorities and the private sector play an important role in supporting municipal programmes and strengthening environmental management efforts.

Municipal officials further highlighted that maintaining a clean urban environment contributes to public health, enhances the city’s appearance and creates a more pleasant space for residents, visitors and businesses.
