TEN University of Eswatini (UNESWA) students have been given a career-launching opportunity through a three-month, fully paid internship programme funded by EswatiniMobile, a company under the Inyatsi Group of Companies.
This is part of the Group’s commitment to empowering young talent and building a skilled workforce for the country’s future.
The programme will see the students placed across various businesses within the Inyatsi Group, where they will gain practical workplace experience, professional mentorship and exposure to different industries that contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Announcing the initiative at Inyatsi House yesterday, Eswatini Mobile Chief Executive Officer Sydney Sichula said the programme represented a practical demonstration of the Group’s belief that sustainable development depends on investing in people.
He said the internship was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace readiness by giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world environments.
“Today is about creating opportunities for young people. It is about ensuring that the knowledge gained in the classroom is strengthened through practical workplace experience,” Sichula said.
The initiative comes amid growing concerns around youth unemployment in the kingdom. Sichula said figures from the State of the Youth Report 2026, which place youth unemployment between 56 and 58.7%, highlight the urgent need for stronger partnerships between government, education institutions and the private sector.

He said creating pathways into employment required more than qualifications alone, adding that young people needed opportunities to develop confidence, workplace skills and professional networks.
“Every internship represents more than a placement. It is a chance to build confidence, develop practical skills and create a pathway into meaningful employment,” Sichula said.
While the programme will initially benefit 10 students, Sichula said each opportunity had the potential to create a wider impact by strengthening families and contributing to national development.
The internship reflects the broader mandate of the Inyatsi Group of Companies, which continues to invest in initiatives that promote empowerment, innovation, skills development and economic participation.
Sichula said the Group’s diverse business portfolio provided an ideal environment for the students to learn from experienced professionals while gaining insight into multiple sectors.
The students will be placed across different areas, including telecommunications, construction, engineering, media, healthcare, insurance, property and other specialised fields.
