SOCCER – In a massive statement of intent ahead of their historic continental campaign, Nsingizini Hotspurs have completed the permanent signings of Moneni Pirates’ prized assets, Innocent Pakule and Mthobisi ‘Mvala’ Zwane.

The highly rated Eswatini national team duo was officially unveiled by the Shiselweni-based outfit yesterday after both clubs formalised the transfers for an undisclosed fee, triggering a major shake-up in the Premier League of Eswatini.

The double departure marks a poignant transition for the Sea Robbers, who released an official farewell statement to pay tribute to their departing young stars.

“Their departures mark the end of an important chapter for the club,” the Buccaneers announced. “We express our deepest appreciation for everything they contributed during their time at the club. We praise their hard work, professionalism, and commitment, as their efforts have been greatly valued. We wish them every success as they begin a new journey with Nsingizini Hotspurs, and they will always remain part of the Moneni Pirates family.”

Pakule’s high-profile switch brings a definitive end to weeks of intense transfer speculation surrounding his future in the hub. Insiders had previously suggested that the midfield maestro turned down a lucrative E30 000 signing-on fee to extend his stay with the Buccaneers after attracting serious interest from rival top-tier clubs. While Pirates’ management initially dismissed claims of an impending exit, the ambitious Shiselweni giants ultimately won the high-stakes race for his coveted signature.

Since arriving at Moneni from Seven Dreams FC on a three-year contract ahead of the 2023/24 season, Pakule rapidly established himself as one of the most influential and dominant midfielders in the domestic top-flight. His stellar club form caught the eye of the national team selectors, earning him a maiden senior Sihlangu call-up earlier this year, where he made his international debut during Sihlangu’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary qualifier against Eritrea at the Somhlolo National Stadium.

Similarly, ‘Mvala’ departs the Sea Robbers having evolved into an indispensable component of the matchday squad, with his clinical performances likewise earning him well-deserved recognition on the international stage.

Nsingizini Hotspurs Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mnotfo Dlamini officially confirmed the blockbuster arrivals alongside the astute acquisition of former Mankayane United winger Andile Zwane, as the club continues to aggressively fortify its ranks for the demanding season ahead.

This heavy investment directly aligns with the grand vision of Nsingizini President Derrick Shiba, who has put the rest of the continent on notice regarding the team’s ultimate objective.

“The team’s target is to reach the group stages of Africa’s premier club competition,” Shiba previously declared.

By injecting proven Premier League quality and genuine international experience into the squad, the Shiselweni outfit is signalling that they mean business on the continent.

Meanwhile, the club’s relentless recruitment drive shows no signs of slowing down, even as a proposed move for Mbabane Highlanders’ attacking midfielder Siyabonga Mkhonto reportedly teeters on the brink of collapse after negotiations hit an unexpected standstill.
