SARS Commissioner, Dr Johnstone Makhubu, has applauded the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) for recognising compliant taxpayers, describing the initiative as both inspiring and a valuable learning experience.
Addressing guests at the 4th Annual ERS Client Appreciation Day, he expressed gratitude to the taxpayers being honoured, saying their commitment to tax compliance continues to make a significant contribution to Eswatini’s economy. He added that the South African Revenue Service has not yet hosted a similar appreciation event, making the occasion one to learn from.
The commissioner also highlighted the strong relationship between Eswatini and South Africa, noting that the prosperity of one nation benefits the other.
“When Eswatini thrives, South Africa thrives as well,” he said.
