Apostle Jeremiah Dlamini of the Faith Christian Fellowship Church has died.

Dlamini reportedly succumbed to an illness after spending a few days at The Luke Commission Hospital in Sidvokodvo. Dlamini’s demise was confirmed by his wife Nolwazi.

“Yes, it is true he has passed on. However, that is all we can say for now,” she said.

During a visit to Dlamini’s parental home at Elangeni yesterday morning, the deceased’s elder brother Musa, his wife and eldest son Sibusiso were preparing to go to The Luke Commission to facilitate the removal of his body from the hospital to a mortuary.

“We received the news of his passing at night, so the family is going there for some formalities because his children had difficulty when trying to do that earlier on,” said a family member.

A visit to the deceased’s home in Bethany, where his first wife resides, did not yield any results as there was no one in sight at the premises.

Dlamini rose to fame in the late 2000s when he became known for performing miracles in his church based at Ngwane Park in Manzini.

A few years later, the pastor attracted controversy when he dated his now second wife Nolwazi, resulting in criticism that he was a man of God, a church leader and a husband.

The debate lasted for some time until in 2012 when Dlamini married Nolwazi through Swazi Law and Custom at his parental home at Elangeni.

Following this development, he stepped away from the Ngwane Park Church, leaving his senior wife LaShongwe holding fort.

During this period, he ventured into various religious programmes, including opening a new church in Mbabane, strengthening his healing mission through selling healing-inspired T-shirts and launching an online TV platform called God Can Still Do It Again.

Under this TV platform, the apostle would run programmes including Anointing with Apostle Jeremiah and The Power of Prayer with Apostle Jeremiah.

It is only in 2024 that Dlamini relaunched the church situated at Ngwane Park.

…Condolences pour in for Apostle Jeremiah

The Council of Churches has described the passing of Apostle Jeremiah Dlamini as a loss to the Christian fraternity.

Reverend Zwanini Tshabalala said the death of a pastor means the work of God is affected.

“The death of a church leader also touches on sustainability of the church,” he said.

Tshabalala said he first learnt about the sad news on social media.

South Africa-based Bishop Keith Harrington and his wife also shared their message of condolence, describing Dlamini as a great man of God, a true revivalist, an international speaker and a mighty servant who lived daily in God’s presence.

“He has run the race faithfully, he has kept the faith and he has finished his course well,” Harrington said in his statement.

He quoted the word from II Timothy 4:7-8, which reads as follows: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
