SOCCER – Nsingizini Hotspurs attacking midfielders Yekisizwe ‘Madumane’ Khumalo and Thubelihle Mavuso have reportedly travelled to Zimbabwe for football assessments as they pursue opportunities to play their trade abroad.

According to sources close to the club, the two players left the country yesterday via the King Mswati III International Airport and are expected to link up with individuals facilitating the assessment in Zimbabwe.

Although the identities of the interested clubs remain undisclosed, sources confirmed that the duo had temporarily left the Nsingizini camp to pursue the opportunity.

“What I know is that the two players left our camp today and flew to Zimbabwe, where they will meet people who are part of the facilitating team,” said a source.

The latest development further highlights Nsingizini Hotspurs’ growing reputation as a club capable of producing talent that attracts interest from foreign teams.

Zimbabwe, in particular, has become a popular destination for players from the ambitious side this year. Former Nsingizini captain Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini and Sambulo ‘Masoso’ Simelane previously secured moves to Hardrock FC in Zimbabwe and have already established themselves in the Zimbabwean Premier League. Another former player, Kwakhe Thwala, also crossed borders after joining Scottland FC.

Should Khumalo and Mavuso impress during their trials and earn contracts, the number of local players currently playing in Zimbabwe would rise to six. Earlier this year, former Mbabane Swallows captain Newman Philiso also completed a move to Agama FC.

The development comes shortly after the conclusion of the local football season. Following Nsingizini’s final match, a 1-1 draw against Manzini Sea Birds at Somhlolo National Stadium, Club President Derrick Shiba revealed that player departures would be announced within 10 days.

That deadline expires today, with Khumalo and Mavuso now appearing set to become the latest players to leave the club in search of opportunities beyond the kingdom’s borders.

Nsingizini Hotspurs PRO Mnotfo Dlamini said player transfers were handled by the club’s senior management.

“I will have to verify and get back to you. Please be patient, I will come back to you once I have all the information,” he said.
