Over E17 million was presented on Tuesday as tetfulo (gifts) to His Majesty King Mswati III at the ongoing Little Incwala.


Hundreds of citizens, companies and parliamentarians presented food items, money and even clothing to ensure the smooth running of the Incwala Ceremony, which amounted to E17 961 872.

With some individuals presenting as little as E250, some companies presented huge amounts with the highest being E1 million from Inyatsi Group, which comprises Lidwala Insurance, Maloma Coal Mine, Eswatini Mobile and other companies.

His Majesty expressed gratitude to the citizens and companies who presented tetfulo, saying that it would help in the smooth running of the Incwala Ceremony.

The king added that during the weeding of fields, there would be more yields since there are good rains in the country.

“The gifts that the nation has presented today will help in the smooth running of the Incwala Ceremony and the nation came in numbers to support the ongoing ceremony. We have already started the Incwala Ceremony and the spirit is high,” the king said.

The king encouraged all citizens to participate in the ongoing ceremony, highlighting that ‘Incwala ayibukelwa’.

The king further stated that the gifts presented at Ngabezweni came from willing hearts.

“The gifts mean warriors will not go to sleep on empty stomachs during the ongoing Incwala,” the king said.

Ingwenyama added that the gifts will make the Incwala Ceremony go well, as the money will help in the purchasing of some traditional attire, items that would be in short supply during the course of the ceremony.

“With all the gifts presented, we express deep appreciation, and may God and the ancestors of the country bless you all,” he said.
