SOCCER – Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season with the signing of former Royal AM midfielder Andile Mpisane.
The former Amazulu FC development product will also serve as chairman of the rebranded Mbabane Highlanders AM FC.

Mpisane completed his registration last Friday alongside exciting winger Simphiwe Cele (Royal AM) and defensive midfielder Vukani Ngcobo from an unverified South African club. Former Ezulwini United goalkeeper Innocent Adja rounds off the list of new foreign recruits.
The announcement follows the earlier signings of Green Mamba duo striker Linda ‘Juju’ Nkambule and anchorman Siboniso ‘Jairo’ Shiba. Other new additions include Sisekelo Maseko, Bongumusa ‘Ntolo’ Fakudze, and Ishmael Zwane.
Acting Highlanders AM spokesperson Charles ‘Ace’ Jele confirmed the new arrivals:
“We have acquired four foreigners and five local players. We believe they will strengthen our squad for the new season. We also want to thank their former clubs for showing professionalism during negotiations.With the transfer window extended, we may still add a few more faces to ensure we have a competitive team.”
The team is expected to return midweek from their pre-season camp in Pietermaritzburg.
Highlanders had a disappointing run in the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup, exiting the tournament at the hands of Ezulwini United.
Coach Ernest Mavuso’s side will kick off their MTN Premier League campaign against defending champions Nsingizini Hotspurs in what promises to be an epic opening clash at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday.
