WORSHIP Centre founder Apostle Justice has reaffirmed his position on homosexuality following Senator Princess Ncengencenge’s recent public declaration that she had left lesbianism and became a born-again Christian.
The apostle said his ministry had always been helping people who identify as gay or lesbian turn to Jesus Christ and embrace what he described as a “normal and natural sexual orientation.”
“I personally help gays and lesbians surrender to Jesus Christ and be converted normal and natural sexual orientation. It’s just that I don’t publicise it,” Apostle Justice said.
He explained that, although people who identify as gay or lesbian were welcome to attend his church, his intention was not to affirm their sexual orientation.
Instead, he said, the church seeks to minister to them through preaching, prayer and what he described as spiritual restoration.
“We currently do not have active gays and lesbians in the church because the spiritual atmosphere and prayers we maintain convict and convert them back to how God designed a male to be attracted to a female,” he said.
Apostle Justice maintained that his position was consistent with the message he preached publicly and said his stance on the matter has been well known.
“The whole country knows my Gospel and it is the true Gospel of God. With me, there is no compromise when it comes to the Word of God,” he said.
The pastor also pointed to the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28 as the basis for welcoming people to the church, regardless of their background or circumstances. The passage contains Jesus’ invitation to those who are weary and burdened to come to Him.
He further cited the Christian responsibility to preach the Gospel, saying Jesus instructed His followers to go out and reach to those who are lost.
According to Apostle Justice, this mission means that people identifying as gay or lesbian should not be excluded from the church. However, he stressed that welcoming them does not mean embracing or affirming their sexual orientation.
“We welcome them to help them be restored and normalised and not to embrace their sexual orientation,” he said.
His comments come after Princess Ncengencenge publicly spoke about leaving lesbianism and becoming a born-again Christian, prompting renewed discussion about the role of churches in addressing sexuality, faith and personal transformation.
“My advocacy and stand is in line with the words of our Lord Jesus who said ‘I did not come to seek the righteous but the lost so that, they might be saved,” Luke 19:10.
“I also applaud and welcome the plea echoed by the princess that the church must reach out to the lesbians and homosexuals to help them find the salvation and transformation she found. I can assure her that my church is heeding the call and will surely do so,” he said.
Apostle Justice concluded by saying his position remains unchanged.
“The statement above is my stand on the issue at hand that will not change,” he said.
