His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday returned to the country via the King Mswati III International Airport following strategic international engagements in Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.

He touched down at exactly 8:15pm.

The king, who was accompanied by Inkhosikati LaMashwama during the trip, undertook the visits as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and expand opportunities for economic cooperation, investment and development with other countries.

In Azerbaijan, His Majesty joined world leaders and policymakers at the World Urban Forum 2026 in Baku, where discussions centred on sustainable cities, infrastructure development and urbanisation. The forum brought together governments, international organisations and development partners to explore solutions to urban challenges facing countries across the globe.

The king also visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where efforts were directed towards enhancing diplomatic relations and attracting investment opportunities.

As a result of the king’s visit to the UAE, the kingdom signed a visa waiver agreement with the country. The UAE engagement by the king formed part of the country’s broader strategy to deepen international partnerships and promote the kingdom as an attractive destination for trade and investment.

The international engagements are expected to contribute to the country’s development agenda through strengthened cooperation with global partners in areas such as infrastructure, technology, urban planning and economic growth.

Emakhosikati, princes, princesses, senior government officials and other dignitaries were present at the KMIII International Airport to welcome His Majesty back.

The visit is expected to further advance the country’s international relations and support efforts aimed at creating new opportunities for national development.
