IT is official; tickets to the MTN Bushfire festival have sold out on all platforms!
In a thrilling turn of events, the MTN Bushfire festival officially announced that tickets had sold out on all platforms, marking a remarkable achievement for the beloved event.
“We are incredibly grateful to our loyal fire starters for their unwavering support,” said festival Director Jiggs Thorne.
This sold-out milestone was the 13th consecutive year for the festival, a true testament to the vibrant community that has emerged around the celebration of creativity, unity and sustainability.
Thorne shared that the MTN Bushfire experience was not just an event; it was a multidisciplinary celebration of art that encompasses music, theatre, dance, spoken word, film, and family-friendly activities.
“Every year, we aim to create a space where creativity flourishes and diversity is celebrated. This year will be no different,” he added.
He also noted that the festival had gained recognition for its commitment to responsible tourism, winning the Most Responsible Event Award at the WTM African Responsible Tourism Awards.
He said the festival was also featured by CNN as part of the top seven African music festivals.
“With our iconic House On Fire serving as the backdrop, festival-goers are set to engage in a memorable gathering from May 30 to June 1,” said Thorne.
However, amidst the excitement, the festival organisers issued a crucial warning to all ticketholders.
“It’s imperative that everyone adheres to strict ticket safety procedures,” Thorne emphasised.
He urged attendees to avoid revealing their ticket barcodes to prevent fraud and cautioned against purchasing tickets from third-party sellers.
“We cannot guarantee the authenticity of tickets bought outside our official channels,” he added.
To facilitate a smooth experience, MTN Bushfire also introduced a safe and secure Howler Ticket Resale platform for fans unable to attend.
“We want to ensure that everyone who wishes to join the festivities has the opportunity to do so,” Thorne explained.
The resale platform allows fans to buy and sell pre-owned tickets, creating a community-driven solution.
As the festival draws closer. Thorne encouraged attendees to collect their wristbands early to avoid long queues.
“Beat the rush! We want everyone to enjoy a seamless entry into the festival arena,” he stated enthusiastically. Wristbands would be available for collection starting May 27, ensuring that everyone could dive into the festivities without delay.
Thorne reminded the public that wristbands must be personalised and placed on individual festival-goers, emphasising the importance of arriving with tickets ready for scanning. “We want to make this experience as smooth as possible for our attendees,” he reiterated. With the stage set and the community buzzing with excitement, the MTN Bushfire festival promises another unforgettable year. As Thorne concluded, “We cannot wait to reignite the fire and celebrate together. Let’s make this a festival to remember!”
