Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) has announced a planned interruption of water supply in Mbabane and surrounding areas due to maintenance works scheduled for today.

According to a notice issued by the corporation, the planned maintenance will take place between 5am and 7pm today. As a result, water supply will be interrupted in a number of areas across Mbabane.

The affected areas include Woodlands, Thembelihle, Riverview, Eveni, Golf Course, Malunge, Beverly Hills, PTS, Nkoyoyo, Sitibeni, Maplazini, Makholokholo, Mpolonjeni, Sidwashini, Mbangweni, SCOT, Kent Rock, Checkers, Sandla, Selection Park, Msunduza, Corporation, Fonteyn, Mountain Drive, Pine Valley, Mahwalala, Manyisa, Mountain View and Dalriach, as well as surrounding areas.

EWSC stated that the maintenance work formed part of planned operations and advised customers and members of the public in the affected areas to prepare for the temporary interruption in service.

The corporation further indicated that water supply was expected to be fully restored by 10am tomorrow. In the notice, EWSC apologised for any inconvenience that may result from the interruption in service delivery.

Meanwhile, residents of Msunduza woke up to empty taps yesterday due to a water pipe burst near Mater Dolorosa High School. Although the irregularity was swiftly attended to, some residents claim they faced difficulty as they had no water at all given that this was not anticipated.
