Former Vulamasango School pupil Mzwandile Mtsetfwa has returned from Taiwan to encourage learners to dream big and believe that education can open doors to opportunities beyond the kingdom.
Mtsetfwa, who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Taiwan, was one of the guest speakers during the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) Schools Motivation Tour held at his former school. The visit formed part of EBIS’ campaign aimed at motivating pupils to work hard, remain disciplined and pursue their academic goals.
Addressing the learners, Mtsetfwa shared his personal journey from being a student at Vulamasango to studying abroad. He urged learners not to allow their backgrounds or circumstances to limit their ambitions, saying determination, commitment and hard work can lead to success.
He encouraged pupils to take their studies seriously, remain focused and make the most of every opportunity presented to them. He also highlighted the importance of believing in oneself and setting goals that may seem beyond reach.
The motivational session included interactions with pupils, where Mtsetfwa answered questions and shared lessons he had learnt throughout his educational journey. He also presented gifts to some learners during the event.
According to EBIS, the Schools Motivation Tour seeks to inspire young people by exposing them to individuals who have excelled in different fields and can serve as positive role models. The initiative is part of the broadcaster’s efforts to encourage academic excellence and empower the country’s youth.
Learners welcomed the opportunity to engage with someone who once walked the same school corridors and has gone on to further his studies internationally. Many described the session as inspiring and said it gave them confidence that they too can achieve their dreams through education and perseverance.
The visit concluded with words of encouragement for learners to remain focused on their education, work hard and believe that, regardless of where they come from, they can achieve success on the global stage.
