In a meeting that resonated with promise and shared purpose, Business Eswatini (BE) welcomed Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF) Chief Executive Officer Khangeziwe Mabuza.

The engagement marked the first chapter in a powerful new partnership, one poised to redefine road safety, service excellence and social impact in the country. The meeting was held at BE offices in Emafini recently.

BE CEO E. Nathi Dlamini said barely three months into her tenure, Mabuza had not only settled into her role, but had also ignited a palpable energy of transformation.

He said her vision, shared with deep conviction, was not merely to manage the Fund, but to reimagine its potential — positioning it as a cornerstone of national welfare and a proactive leader in creating a safer country for all.

The meeting crystallised a strong alignment of missions. Business Eswatini, representing the engine of the nation’s economy, and SMVAF, a guardian of its people’s well-being, found profound common ground.

Dlamini said the path forward was illuminated by collaboration — strengthening existing partnerships, forging new strategic alliances, and leveraging collective resources for maximum national impact.

He added that his organisation stood ready, eager and optimistic to walk the transformative path alongside Mabuza and her dedicated team.

Together, he said, they were committed to building a safer and more resilient future for the nation — a journey towards a new era of safety and service which has decisively begun.

“We departed not just encouraged but genuinely inspired. In Ms Khangeziwe Mabuza, we see a leader whose clarity of purpose, operational decisiveness, and expansive vision are exactly what the moment demands.

“Her leadership marks a new horizon for SMVAF, one defined by efficiency, innovation, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to saving lives,” remarked Dlamini.

Mabuza gratefully acknowledged the highly effective and supportive team she inherited — a solid foundation upon which she said she was building ambitious plans.

She noted that internal cohesion was already fuelling action. From day one, she said her leadership had been characterised by a proactive drive to streamline internal processes — a move destined to translate directly into faster, more responsive and more compassionate service for every client and beneficiary who interacts with the Fund.

Addressing a critical concern head-on, she assured that delays in payments were being tackled with renewed vigour and strategic focus.

Mabuza is also championing a bold redefinition of the SMVAF brand. She said the goal was to evolve its public perception from an entity associated solely with accidents to a recognised company of choice and a celebrated leader in public welfare and safety innovation.

“This commitment underscores a core principle of my leadership: putting people and their urgent needs at the very heart of SMVAF’s mission,” she said.

What inspired the Business Eswatini delegation was the expansive, forward-looking scope of Mabuza’s vision.

She spoke not just of managing accidents, but of preventing them. A powerful, shared ambition emerged — to dramatically reduce road accidents across the country.

This visionary shift from reactive compensation to proactive prevention promises to save lives, reduce societal costs, and ensure the Fund’s long-term sustainability.

Key to this is the strategic replication of proven, life-saving models such as the acclaimed Malagwane Hill cooling station initiative in other high-risk areas — a mission where partnership and innovation from the private sector will be invaluable.
