The return of Deep House Music Conversations (DHC) has been described as ‘nothing short of magical’.

Mthunzi Zwane, popularly known as ‘Shadow’, outlined a bold vision to grow the platform into a consistent cultural feature throughout 2026.

Reflecting on the recent event held at Bahle Pantry, Shadow said the comeback after a two-year hiatus drew strong numbers and a renewed appreciation for the daytime deep house experience.

“Attendees showed up in great numbers, bringing positive energy and a real appreciation for the daytime deep house vibe,” he said.

Feedback from both patrons and partners, according to Shadow, was overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding the venue and overall experience.

“People loved the aesthetic of the venue, the smooth flow of the event, and the timeless classics delivered by the legendary DJ Christos, who delivered as expected,” Shadow said.

He highlighted the atmosphere on the day as a key takeaway.

“Standout moments included the pure joy on the dancefloor, beautiful sunny weather, and that soulful journey through house music that had everyone smiling and connecting,” he said.

“It felt like the community had been waiting for this exact experience,” added Shadow.

Looking ahead, Shadow confirmed plans to establish DHC as a regular feature on the entertainment calendar.

“We plan to keep DHC as a regular Sunday daytime culture fixture throughout 2026, aiming for quarterly or bimonthly editions depending on the calendar and opportunities,” he said.

He further stated that efforts were already underway to secure international collaborations aligned with the brand’s identity.

The Deep House Conversations.

“We’re actively exploring collaborations with international deep house artists, names that resonate with the global scene but align with the soulful, classic, and uplifting sound our crowd loves,” he said.

Shadow said venue selection would continue to prioritise spaces that enhance the experience.

“Venues will continue to mix intimate, aesthetically pleasing spots like Bahle Pantry/The Foundry with other unique locations that offer good space, vibe, and accessibility,” he said.

Zwane also pointed to plans to expand DHC beyond music through themed editions, improved production and added cultural elements.

“New elements we’re considering include themed editions, enhanced production, and possibly workshops or conversations around the culture of deep house. We want DHC to evolve beyond just music into a full lifestyle experience,” he said.

He further described the deep house scene in the country as vibrant, supported by a loyal audience.

“Events like DHC prove there’s a dedicated, loyal community that shows up for quality house music,” he said, noting that the recent return highlighted strong demand and continued growth potential.

“We see it evolving through greater exposure, more frequent quality events, and cross-generational appeal,” Zwane added.

He emphasised the role of Swazi Boy Entertainment in sustaining the culture.

“Since 2006, we’ve positioned DHC as ‘your Sunday vibe’ – a platform that keeps the culture breathing, connects artists and fans, and elevates the overall standard of house music events in the kingdom,” he said.

According to Shadow, the return had also re-energised the local scene, with increased appreciation from both audiences and sponsors.

“Audience engagement felt very warm and appreciative — people were ready to dress up, dance, and soak in the vibes. Sponsor support has been solid, with partners appreciating the well-organised, positive atmosphere,” he said.

He further revealed that new collaborations and partnerships were in development.

“We’re in talks with both local and international artists or DJs to bring fresh energy to future DHC editions,” he said, adding that relationships with brands and venues would continue to grow.

“We’re also strengthening ties with venues and brands that align with the sophisticated yet relaxed DHC lifestyle,” he said.

Zwane concluded by hinting at more to come.

“Fans can look forward to more surprise line-ups, potential joint events with complementary promoters, and expanded experiences. The best is yet to come,” he said.
