HLANE has received a major facelift following the official opening of a multi-million Emalangeni hotel developed by Inyatsi Group Holdings.
The Hlane Royal Hotel, which marks a milestone in Eswatini’s growing tourism and infrastructure sectors, was officially opened by His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday.
The king also renamed the establishment Nsulutane Properties Hotel during the ceremony. The renaming signified not only a new identity for the hotel, but also a renewed vision for tourism development in the area as more infrastructure is still to be constructed.
The construction of the hotel began in September 2023, and in just over two years, the site has been transformed into a modern hospitality facility poised to attract both local and international visitors.
According to Inyatsi Group’s representative Thokozani Nkambule, the company has so far invested between E150 million and E200 million into the project. Nkambule said the development was influenced by His Majesty’s continued call to prioritise tourism as one of the key anchors of the country’s economy.
He explained that the group embraced the Nkwe approach, which is rooted in determination and excellence, in bringing the project to life.
“We at Inyatsi Group took the Nkwe approach in establishing this hotel. Two weeks ago, this place was not the same as now. Those who saw it then might be amazed at the transformation,” Nkambule said.
He emphasised that the rapid progress made on the project was driven by the company’s core values of agility and teamwork, which enabled stakeholders to work efficiently under tight timelines.
“Our core values as Inyatsi Group, which are agility and teamwork, helped us achieve our goal of having this establishment,” Nkambule added.

While the hotel has already opened its doors, Nkambule noted that further improvements are still underway. He described the project as a “work in progress,” with additional finishing touches expected to elevate the hotel to world-class standards in the coming days.
“In a few days’ time, this will be a state-of-the-art hotel because we want to show that Eswatini understands first-world standards,” he said.
Beyond its contribution to the tourism sector, the construction of the hotel has also had a meaningful impact on employment and local economic activity.
Nkambule said approximately 1 000 people were employed either directly or indirectly during the construction phase, with many drawn from surrounding communities. This provided much-needed income opportunities and skills development for local residents.
In addition, he said 15 subcontractors were engaged to carry out various construction works, further spreading the economic benefits of the project across different sectors.
Nkambule reiterated Inyatsi Group’s commitment to partnering with government in driving the country’s development agenda, particularly its ambition of attaining first-world status.
“We are committed to partnering with government towards achieving the first-world goal,” he said.
Strategically located near King Mswati III International Airport, the newly-opened Nsulutane Properties Hotel is expected to serve as a key gateway destination for travellers entering the country. Its proximity to the airport positions it as a convenient and attractive option for tourists and business visitors alike.
“Those who land at King Mswati III International Airport will find that this is the place to be after landing on the kingdom’s soil,” Nkambule added.
