MTN Eswatini is driving digital health awareness through the Notsa Health App, a platform designed to empower individuals to take charge of their health through technology.
Speaking during the MTN 21 Days of Y’ello Care Roadshow held at Kwaluseni, MTN Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager Thandwa Dlamini said the company partnered with Georgetown University to train members of the public on how to use the innovative health application.
Dlamini explained that Georgetown University was working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health on the initiative, which seeks to improve access to health information and encourage proactive health management among Emaswati.
She said one of the major achievements of the project was the localisation of the application into Siswati, making it more accessible to local users.
“The app was initially developed in English but it has now been localised and made available in Siswati for locals to use with ease,” she said.
According to Dlamini, the Notsa Health App serves as a personal digital health companion, providing users with health information, reminders and guidance on various health-related matters.
“The importance of this app is that it helps users monitor their health. It becomes a personal health partner that can answer health-related questions and provide guidance,” she explained.
She said the application would remind users to take medication, keep track of appointments and manage other health-related responsibilities.
“For example, someone can ask, ‘How can I improve my health?’ and the app will provide useful information that can help them stay healthy and remain ahead of their health needs,” said Dlamini.
As part of the roadshow activities, MTN representatives spent the day conducting demonstrations and assisting members of the public to download and navigate the application.
The training sessions were aimed at ensuring that more people, particularly those unfamiliar with digital health tools, benefit from the platform.

Dlamini said MTN believes digital solutions have the potential to transform healthcare by making reliable health information more accessible to ordinary citizens.

“As a digital company, we believe that addressing health issues through digital platforms can help reduce the number of people who delay seeking medical assistance,” she said.
She noted that the application served as a one-stop digital health companion, providing users with easy access to health information, reminders, support services and practical tools for managing their wellbeing.
Dlamini added that by placing essential healthcare resources directly into the hands of users, Notsa aims to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and communities.
One of the application’s key features is its ability to keep users informed through reliable updates on mental health, tuberculosis (TB), nutrition and other health-related topics.
The platform also helps users stay on track with medication schedules and healthcare appointments through timely reminders and notifications.
