THE 10th edition of the Embiveni Biggest Braai is set to make history after Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini confirmed that he will attend the annual charity event.
This was confirmed by Philani Maswati Charity Organisation Chairman Lutfo Dlamini, who said the prime minister confirmed his attendance during a meeting with the organisation’s executive at the Cabinet offices yesterday.
Dlamini described the confirmation as a milestone for the Embiveni Biggest Braai, saying it would be the first time since the event was established that a sitting prime minister would attend.
“For the first time in the history of the Embiveni Biggest Braai, the 10th Agape edition will be graced by the presence of a prime minister. PM Russell Mmiso Dlamini confirmed his attendance when we met with him at the Cabinet offices,” said Dlamini.
He said the PM also encouraged the public to support Her Majesty the Indlovukazi’s initiative of assisting vulnerable members of society through the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation.
“The PM has invited the public to join him in supporting Her Majesty the Indlovukazi’s initiative to help the needy. We are grateful for his support, which demonstrates the importance of this event,” he said.
Dlamini said preparations for the Biggest Braai were at an advanced stage and expressed confidence that this year’s event would surpass all previous editions.
“This year’s Embiveni Biggest Braai promises to be the biggest ever. We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of people as we celebrate our 10th Agape edition while raising support for vulnerable members of our communities,” he said.
The Embiveni Biggest Braai will take place on July 25 and is expected to attract thousands of patrons across the country and neighbouring South Africa and Mozambique.
The event is organised by the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation in support of programmes that assist the elderly and other vulnerable people.
