SOCCER – Nsingizini Hotspurs have secured a major new sponsorship partnership with Sibebe Premium Lager, with both parties describing the deal as a strategic alliance that could help take their brands beyond Eswatini and onto the African stage.
The partnership was officially unveiled yesterday, with Eswatini Beverages Limited Country Director Doreen Tumureebire describing the relationship as more than a conventional sponsorship.
She said it brought together “two proudly Eswatini brands” united by a desire to achieve excellence beyond the country’s borders.
The deal comes at a significant time for Nsingizini, who are heading into the CAF Champions League after completing a historic treble last season.
For Sibebe, the club’s continental campaign offers an opportunity to increase its visibility across Africa while reinforcing its positioning as a distinctly local brand.
The country director said the company was particularly excited to partner with Nsingizini because of the club’s achievements both on and off the field.
“As the current treble champions, Nsingizini have set a standard for sporting achievement and have earned the opportunity to represent the country on the continental stage,” she said.
She added that the partnership would allow Sibebe to showcase what Eswatini had to offer to a wider African audience through Nsingizini’s participation in the CAF Champions League.
The sponsorship also signals Eswatini Beverages’ renewed commitment to football, with the country director stressing that the company viewed the partnership as the beginning of a broader strategy to support the development and sustainability of the sport.
“While our immediate focus is on supporting Nsingizini Hotspurs FC during their CAF Champions League journey and throughout this season’s activities, we view this initiative as the beginning of a broader football support strategy,” she said.
The company, which has been operating in Eswatini for more than 50 years, believes football provides a powerful platform to bring communities together, develop talent and inspire young people.
Tumureebire said Sibebe’s association with Nsingizini was therefore not intended to be a one-season engagement, but part of a longer-term vision to contribute meaningfully to football in the country.
For Nsingizini President Derrick Shiba, the partnership represents a major milestone for the club and fits directly into its ambitions of establishing itself as an African football brand.

Shiba described the agreement as a “transformational relationship”, insisting that the club was no longer measuring itself only against domestic opposition.
“Our vision as a club is an African club. We’re not pegging ourselves against immediate opponents in the country. We are from Eswatini, but our standards are African standards,” Shiba said.
He said Nsingizini’s continental participation had already given the club significant exposure, claiming that its reach extended to more than 53 African countries as well as several countries in Asia.
Shiba also made it clear that the club understood the commercial responsibilities that came with attracting major corporate partners.
“Football is business,” he said, adding that the club understood it had key performance indicators to meet in order to maintain the relationship.
He pledged that Nsingizini would protect the Sibebe brand and uphold the values of trust and integrity in the partnership.
The Nsingizini boss further welcomed Sibebe’s return to football sponsorship, recalling the company’s previous involvement in sponsoring the domestic league.
He said the new partnership had revived that spirit within the football community and promised that the club would work to ensure the relationship produced benefits for both parties and football as a whole.
Tumureebire, meanwhile, said Sibebe was honoured to accompany the treble champions on their continental journey, describing the club as an institution that carried the hopes and pride of Emaswati.
“Our Beer. Our Pride,” she said, underlining the brand’s intention to use the partnership to celebrate local excellence while taking the Eswatini identity to a broader African audience.
