His Majesty King Mswati III has accepted an invitation to visit the United Republic of Tanzania.
This was during the presentation of letters of credence to His Majesty by the ambassadors of Tanzania and Algeria at Lozitha Palace yesterday.
The King accepted the invitation from the United Republic of Tanzania Ambassador, CP Hamad Khamis Hamad, who invited him to his country at a mutually convenient time on behalf of the President of Tanzania and the people.
His Majesty said they encouraged citizens to visit the two countries so that they could learn about each other.
“I assure you that we will visit Tanzania, which is also our sister country. I have previously visited that country and saw how it has developed and promoted tourism in many areas,” he said.
The King stated that it had always been a blessing for him to visit Tanzania because there were many experiences and ideas to share, adding that he was looking forward to this particular visit.
He assured the ambassador that the Kingdom would support him as he assumed his duties as an ambassador.
Hamad, when inviting the King, said such a visit would provide an opportunity to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries while experiencing the diverse beauty and heritage of Tanzania.
He said His Majesty would have the opportunity to witness the magnificent Great Migration in the Serengeti ecosystem, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, and experience the historical and cultural treasures of Zanzibar, including its rich Swahili heritage, beautiful beaches and the unique character of the islands.
He said he believed that a visit combining the Serengeti and Zanzibar would offer His Majesty a memorable experience reflecting the very best of Tanzania’s natural, cultural and historical heritage.
“Your Majesty, as I assume my responsibilities in the Kingdom of Eswatini, I wish to assure you of my unwavering commitment to work diligently to further enhance the excellent relations between our two countries and to promote greater cooperation across all areas of mutual interest,” he said.
Hamad added that he was looking forward to working closely with government in advancing the shared objectives and building an even stronger partnership between the two nations.
He said it was an honour and privilege for him to present to His Majesty the letters of credence by which President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan accredits him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Kingdom of Eswatini.
“I also have the honour to convey to Your Majesty the warm greetings, best wishes and highest esteem of President Hassan, together with the sincere wishes of the government and people of Tanzania for the continued peace, prosperity and wellbeing of Your Majesty, the royal family and the people of the Kingdom of Eswatini,” he said.
Hamad added that Tanzania attached great importance to its longstanding friendship and cooperation with the Kingdom.
He said the two nations were united by the enduring values of African solidarity, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and a shared commitment to the development and prosperity of their people.
He added that, as fellow members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union, Tanzania and Eswatini continued to work together in advancing regional integration, economic development, peace and stability.
“We are encouraged by the cordial relations that exist between our two countries and remain committed to further strengthening these bonds through enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges,” he said.
The ambassador added that, under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Tanzania continued to pursue an agenda of economic transformation, investment promotion, infrastructure development and connectivity.
Hamad said they believed there were significant opportunities for the two countries to expand bilateral cooperation and deepen economic partnerships for the mutual benefit of their people.
He said Tanzania also remained committed to supporting initiatives that promoted intra-African trade and investment within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area, while strengthening regional cooperation through SADC and other continental mechanisms.
He expressed Tanzania’s appreciation for the warm relations that continued to exist between the two countries.
He said they were particularly encouraged by the growing interest in strengthening exchanges in tourism and conservation, areas in which Tanzania is blessed with exceptional natural attractions, rich biodiversity and a unique cultural heritage.
LET US LEAVE A GOOD LEGACY FOR FUTURE AFRICANS – KING
His Majesty King Mswati III says they should leave a good legacy behind, which future generations of Africans will follow.
The King shared this when receiving letters of credence from the Algerian Ambassador, Malek Djaoud, and the United Republic of Tanzania’s CP Hamad Khamis Hamad at Lozitha Palace yesterday.
His Majesty said future generations should be able to find an Africa that was strong economically, socially and in terms of security.
He said it was a pleasure for him to welcome the ambassadors into the Kingdom, as the two countries shared a lot in common.
The King stated that he had been looking forward to the ambassadors’ arrival as a means of strengthening the relationships and cooperation that existed between the two countries.
His Majesty said he hoped they would work closely together to see how their cooperation could develop and how the two countries could grow their relationship from strength to strength.
“We have an excellent relationship between our two countries. There are a lot of agreements which both our countries have agreed upon and most of them are to address the issues of the two countries,” he said.
The King said the most important thing was that both countries were in Africa and, as members of the African Union, they had a lot of work to do.
He said one of their top priorities was to ensure that they fulfilled the mandate of the Africa they wanted.
He added that this meant fulfilling Agenda 2063, which sought to transform the African continent into a much better continent to live in.
He stated that Tanzania and Eswatini faced similar challenges and needed to address issues of social welfare and unemployment by working together.
The King said there were many things the two countries could achieve together, adding that he hoped the ambassador would come to Eswatini and explore ways in which the two countries could cooperate.
“In order for any country to strive, peace remains one of the top issues on our agenda.
“We are pleased that Eswatini and Tanzania are both members of the SADC Troika, which attends to all the issues that arise or face the SADC region. We are always happy with the cooperation and working together in ensuring that the region continues to have peace,” he said.
